Description

The Power Roller is a rotating grip training tool designed to develop open-hand strength and sloper-specific grip control under instability.
It is suited for climbers who want to train the forearm engagement required for slopers.

What this solves
Sloper strength is difficult to train in a controlled, progressive way outside of climbing. Most tools don’t replicate the open-hand, unstable nature of slopers.

How this solves it
The rotating handle forces continuous grip engagement while preventing full locking. This creates an open-hand dominant stimulus similar to holding a sloper.

Why this tool
Unlike static handles, this introduces rotational instability that better mimics the demands of sloper gripping. However, the relatively small diameter limits how closely it matches true sloper positions.

Intermediate / Advanced — for climbers who want to train sloper-related grip strength in a controlled, progressive way.

Max Climbing's Verdict

A similar concept to larger rolling handles, but with a smaller diameter. It still works well for open-hand grip work and progressive loading, while feeling slightly more finger-focused than larger rolling handles. The smaller size also makes it a bit easier to use for general grip strength and controlled loading.

👉 Best for climbers who want a simple tool for open-hand grip strength with a slightly more finger-focused feel.
