Tenaya

Tenaya was founded in 1997 by José Luis García Gallego, an engineer and climber who first pioneered sticky rubber climbing shoe soles years earlier and made first ascents on El Capitán and Fitz Roy himself. He named the brand after Tenaya Canyon in Yosemite, and built it in southeast Spain, a region with a centuries old shoemaking tradition.

The range is built on Tenaya's own patented technologies: the Draxtor lacing system for a precise, repeatable one movement fit, and SXR Dynamics for improved power transfer and adaptability to different rock shapes. It's this obsession with performance that's made Tenaya the shoe of choice for climbers like Alex Megos, who wore Tenaya for his historic first ascent onsight of a 9a route, and Chris Sharma.

Max Climbing ships Tenaya climbing shoes worldwide from our Ghent warehouse, with fast, reliable delivery.
